As soon as the weather turns 70 degrees, my husband wants nothing else but smoothies. He’s like a smoothie monster. He suggested I do a series of summer smoothies… I think there were some selfish motives there but should I do it???

This smoothie is light but filling and helps with inflammation which I’m always looking for! Yes- there is a pinch of turmeric in it. Yes there is an avocado in it. But… I promise it won’t taste like a Happy Meal Smoothie (those who grew up in Youth Group know what I’m talking about.) It’s sweet and refreshing I promise! Don’t knock the combo until you try it.

Alright people! This might be my all time favorite smoothie I’ve ever had. Are you ready?!

Anti-Inflammatory Watermelon Mint Smoothie Bowl

Serves 2

Ingredients

½ c. oat milk (recipe here)
½ tsp. vanilla
1 sprig of fresh mint leaves (plus more for garnish)
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 crack of black pepper
1 banana
½ avocado
½ c. mixed frozen berries
1 c. frozen watermelon
Choice of toppings (coconut flakes, chia seeds, hemp seeds, fresh berries, granola, turmeric powder, etc.)

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together in a high speed blender. Distribute into two bowls and top with your favorite toppings.
